I have reached out to the housing Authority and they sent pictures of them clearing the yard however it seems they just piled the debris towards the back and agaisnt the fence of the adjacent property. I advised them to clear out all of the debris and they were intending to have it removed. Will reach out again and see why it's taking longer then it should.

Must be a different yard. They cleared 2 houses over. This yard remains untouched.

The property owner Elm City Communities (New Haven Housing Authority) has been contacted several times about this site. Recently we asked them to consider selling the property if they don't have the funding to begin rehabilitation. We agree, it's time to fix it!

Squatters and rats still persist at this property. It’s a danger to families around it. Elm City Communities better do something about this space before someone gets hurt. Absolutely despicable that the city of New Haven hasn’t lifted a finger on this derelict property for almost a decade. Yet you want to expand Tweed in the area? Absolutely indicative of how little officials actually care about residents.

A Civil Citation for blight is being sent to the property owner.

Commenting to keep this issue alive. Once it gets warmer, this property will absolutely be overrun with vegetation and wild animals. Is there any way to get action on this property before that happens?

Commenting again to keep the issue alive. Now that spring is here, there’s a few weeks left before the entire area will be overgrown again— teeming with rats and other wildlife. I’ve also seen police in and out of the area in the past few weeks, almost like they were looking for someone in the brush. Totally awesome that this is all happening in my backyard and the city doesn’t care. LCI: if you see this, you HAVE to help do something. This is crazy. Make it stop.

There will be a contractor there tomorrow to assess and get started on clean up of the rear vegetation. We appreciate your concern and I am working very closely with the HANH to get this resolved.

Still an issue, still no response from the city

Morning My Neighbors,
I contacted the Housing Authority yesterday, to bring this to their attention if it is one of their properties. If so, hopefully some action will be taken soon.

LCI has been in contact with the Housing Authority many times about this location.

We are waiting for an update on the redevelop of this structure.

The property manager who cared for this property recently retired, and LCI is working with the new property manager to address this issue.
