The Elm City Cycling general meeting is coming up on December 13th at City Hall in room #2 on the second floor from 6 to 7 pm. This meeting will focus more broadly on cycling and cycling events in and around New Haven. The Bike Plan Sub-Committee meeting immediately follows from 7 to 8 pm and will focus more specifically on existing and future bicycle infrastructure improvements in the city. Anyone is welcome to attend and participate.
I appreciate that there are "sharrows" along Edgewood, but I recently was almost run over by a speeding driver at 10 am on a weekday who was distracted by the kids in the back seat of his car. I play by the rules--I ride on the street, obey stop signs and traffic lights, etc.--so it is frustrating to me that I would still feel unsafe on this relatively calm street.
