I thought Montgomery County was all set to widen southbound Whitehall Road to make room for a new left-turn lane onto Sterigere Street. Right now south-bound traffic backs up for half a mile trying to get through the light at Sterigere. Is the left turn lane going to happen or not?

If you think shaving a lane's worth off state land at the Farm Park to add to a state route is the same as "a Wal-Mart in the middle of Valley Forge (National Historical) Park", you desperately need your perspective adjusted.
And it certainly won't take *any* trees, AmissTree. If you're so concerned about greeness, you might think about the fossil fuel burned and carbon emitted while those cars are sitting uselessly idling waiting to get past the light.
I do hope you don't need a quick ride to the new hospital along Whitehall when it's jammed up with that traffic you don't care about. The "cell phone" crack is irrelevant and gratuitous, but does serve to illustrate your contempt for others.
By the way, it's spelled "principle".

Being a state park, using a tiny slice of it to improve safety on a state route should be a no-brainer.
(Speaking of "no brains", a spell checker can't tell you whether you meant principle or principal..they are both words. You have to know which one you mean and type it.)

It's a state park, leased to the county by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Montgomery County is responsible for the development, operation, maintenance, and administration as a park, but it is state land. North Whitehall Road is State Route 3009.
Would be just a little bit less to mow. Maybe.
