How about putting a 10 cent refund on a used needle. Either the city or needle exchange should fund this, or i'm sure many other taxpayers would offer a few bucks to see it happen. It would be nice to know how many needles are handed out, annually and how many returned. You don't see beer bottles lying around, this could clean up this health hazard and give the city spaces back to the people. any municipal politicians interested?

Not a good idea, as this would encourage children to pick up needles to make some extra pocket money.

LOL taxpayers want nothing to do with used needles or anything like that, and you don't see beer bottles, but they're there. of the THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of needles handed out probably less than 5% are returned. They are incinerated, no use putting a deposit on them. They aren't cleaned and recirculated like cans or bottles.
