why does this have to be removed

This clean up was done complements of one concerned citizen. There is still some graffiti on the north side of. The building, facing the playground. Given the graffiti in the back of the school is on the brick it would be better if the city cleaned it than if some covered it with more paint.

If ALL the graffiti isn't removed this should remain open until it has been cleaned up. The playground side is where our children play; I prefer a nice environment for my child, as I am sure other parents do.

A concerned neighbor did it by taking action.

I don't live in Fair Haven any longer, but if there's STILL graffiti and the city won't clean up then I suppose we'll leave this open -- it was LONG AGO that I first took the pic and posted the issue. Such a sad city....

I just reached out to the Chief Operating Officer of New Haven Public Schools about this. He's a guy that can get things done. Thanks for reporting this.

The BOE was notified by LCI on 9/24/12. They have graffiti removal equipment to remove this blight.

Thanks LCI Watcher! The Chief Operating Officer let me know yesterday that the graffiti is scheduled for removal.
