roadway runs parallel with rt 303. very long straight away, no stop signs any where on the length of roadway to slow drivers down.People try to beat the traffic during the day by using this road

An early Christmas present to the residents who live along Highway Ave Congers
Sadly, after countless complaints to the powers to be over the years, numerous accidents, multiple incidents of property damage and the recent senseless death of a young child this past fall while riding his bicycle on Highway Ave......
it took “only” 31 years for “some to come to their senses” to finally
put up two (2) four (4) way stop signs.
They are now located at the intersections of Highway Ave and Highway Ave and Tremont Ave...
I’m fairly certain this will be a great deterrent to speeders on Highway Ave in the future
plus the residents now can walk safely without having the fear of perhaps being hit
by a vehicle traveling at a unsafe speed.
Good job Town of Clarkstown Highway Department

Well, it took long enough…..
close to 10 years before town officials smartened up.
It apparently took the injury of a bicyclist getting hit by a pick up
to expedite matters and wake town officials up and say
hey why not put some stop signs in this troubled area
