There is a bark deterant devise that you can get that sends out a sound that dogs here that stops them from barking. You can set it so people can here it so this will anoy the dogs and the people next door.If they don't like the sound well to bad because it only goes off when the dogs bark.i

It's unfortunate, but until PA decides to actually enforce the noise bylaw, the problem is only going to continue. So many people have NO RESPECT for anyone else.

I have dog and as soon as he starts barking, I go and get him. Not sure what others find hard about that.

they bark when someones in the area that shouldnt be there. talk to the neighbors, if they dont do anything about it, call by-law, after so many trips they get a 300$ fine...

dont; bother spending the money on those barking devises,,,my mom bought 2 different ones and don;t work,,,She gets too much traffic in the back alley and now she goes out when her dogs do,,so she can control the barking more,,,,,Some of us understand the barking and do all we can,,others just use excuses...As who lets there kids scream all day ,,so why would you let your dogs bark all day

To stop dogs from barking, you have to have responsible dog owners. To be a responsible dog owner, you have to be able to train your dog. To be able to train your dog, you have to know more than the dog. Owners should be able to figure out the rest on their own.

phone by-law enforcement. That's what i did when our old neighbors moved in next door and had a dog like that. They were there quickly and never heard the dog bark after hours after that. about a year later they did end up moving!

I live just around the corner from you and I also have very irritating neighbours with 2 bull masifs and a little yappy dog that bark at all hours. I get dogs bark. I have a dog and yes she barks, when we are playing and I stop her immediately. I work shift work and find it even more annoying when I get home from work at 7:30 am and am up all day because the two giant dogs bark so loud all day. I also would like a little respect, dogs bark when they are bored. I have an idea! Take your dog for a walk!!

Does anyone know if by-law will only come after certain hours or if they bark all day will they come talk to the people?

I totally understand your frustration. Our neighbor has 4 dogs. They go out and leave them in a pen howling while they are away. A person realizes it is not the dog's fault, but why do pet owners have to be so irresponsible. They are the ones that want a dog and they are the ones that should have to listen to it. Your neighbors and mine are very inconsiderate and I think calling the by-law officers is the only way to put an end to it. Hit them where it hurst..............in the wallet!

Once you have complained to your neighbour and the dogs still bark, next step it to call the bylaw officer, right? ... Better think again, I personally dont think a dogs barking is enough reason to start a war with a neighbour, there is NOTHING worse than living next door to people you hate, and hate you, Put up with the barking and think of it as free security.

Ya, I also have a dog, and when strangers are around in the alley, I let him bark 2-3 times before quieting him. Our neighbors dog barks non freaking stop if a blade of grass moves in the yard. I have called by law twice and talked to the neighbors twice about paying attention to the dog and keeping it from barking constantly. They finally got the idea that we wouldn't put up with this and they keep better control of their dog! Sometimes talking to the neighbor and being reasonable is enough to help the situation and sometimes it's not...they didn't want to pay the fine, so they shut the dog up in a reasonable amount of time now.
