While it's a marked parking slot, it is still considered roadway

It's a parking spot irregardless. The road is a designated 2 lane road.

Therefore the person in the parking spot making an illegal right turn on red in that part of the road is TOTALLY in the wrong. You are technically "going off the road" to make an illegal turn. These people need to learn how to WAIT like everyone else does. They aren't special.

Trust me. I've been in the paving business for 24 years and know the traffic laws when it comes to parallel parking spots!

It seems like nobody follows the traffic laws anymore, especially in Amherst.

johns, just because it's part of the roadway,doesn't mean you have the right to go around someone making a LEGAL right turn to turn illegally. a parking spot is a parking spot not a road way.

I think there is also a "no turn on red sign" at this intersection.

Just almost got smacked here the other day. Was waiting at the light to turn right... it turned green and I went to go when all of a sudden someone went to the right of me, cut me off and turned right via the parking spot. I was nearly hit and didn't have time to catch up with them because they were driving so fast. Something needs to be done about this!
