first I thought u were joking but no kidding.... how is there not a crosswalk here... same is on capital blvd and new bern ave people constantly crossing anywhere they like not giving a care and darting in front of cars is a nightmare like the game frogger splat the pedestrian -- ESPECIALLY when people on glenwood are usually doing 60 in a 45

I recently saw 2 people get off the #6 around 8am and cross Glenwood. It looked scary to me. They were probably just headed to work. This intersection definitely needs a crosswalk since there are commuter bus stops on either side. I contacted the City of Raleigh about crosswalks and received this response:

"There are not any planned at this time for the intersection of Rembert. There are however some are in the design phase for the intersections of Pleasant Valley/Glenwood and Pleasant Valley promenade/Glenwood. We were looking at potentially adding one at Hollyridge/Glenwood intersection, I will need to check the status of that. We can take a look at Glenwood/Rembert and see the feasibility of adding a crossing there. "

You can cross at the Holly Ridge Light or the light in front of Panera Bread.

Where is the Update?? A pedestrian was struck and killed crossing Glenwood ave. at Pleasant Valley Rd. in 2016. Despite a huge number of low and high density residential areas and now increased commercial development along this corridor, it is absolutely inexcusable that pedestrians must risk their lives to cross a road. Absolutely inexcusable.
