TOP PHOTO is of Amistad and Church where there is already a traffic light. BOTTOM PHOTO shows Columbus Avenue and Cedar Street where I would suggest a traffic signal would better serve to resolve the congestion, speed and safety issues. This area is so congested with traffic between 4:45 and 5:15pm on Columbus that access from Cedar from either end is almost impossible. And factor in that children are leaving the Boys/Girls Club on Columbus at that time of day and the 'cross walks' are often blocked by moving or stopped traffic. The timing of the light at Howard should be adjusted to allow a better flow from Columbus as this is the alternate route often taken from the Med School, the Hospital and downtown offices because of the congestion at the 95 entrance off Frontage and at Church. Please have a Traffic specialist investigate the area of Columbus and Cedar (as well as Columbus and Howard) during that time of day to confirm the need for a signal at Columbus and Cedar, and an adjustment of timing at Columbus and Howard.
