Deskripsyon

The bike line headed West on Lafayette Street is usually blocked by cars using it as a turn lane. I ride my bike every day to work and I have to bike in the car lane or wait behind cars in the bike line who are turning right onto Chrysler. Despite road painting and a "share the road" sign, cars use the bike lane as a turn lane. Further down the road there are dividers in the bike lane, shielding bikers and blocking cars from entering. I would love to see these dividers added to this stretch of road to keep cars out of the bike lane.

This is a constant problem. An island that separates the driving/turn lane from the bike lane needs to extend from Rivard to the Chrysler Service Drive.

And for this situation, please add a separate, designated right turn lane with separate, designated bike lane painted in green. Note this is west-bound on E. Lafayette, just before the Chrysler Service Drive.

This is a serious issue. Cars that try to comply and turn right from the proper lane are nearly run over by cars turning in the bike lane.

Traffic Enforcement Unit monitored the area in question for several days, but they were unable to locate a violation on those days. We also understand that this does not mean the issue is solved and will revisit this complaint in the near future as a follow-up.

I’d really appreciate for you to take another look at this. I find it hard to believe that there are multiple comments here and other complaints about this same intersection, yet you noticed no issue. I see this happening every time I am at the intersection and I’ve almost been hit for using the correct lane to make a right hand turn here. This is a huge issue and very dangerous. On another complaint someone said they would be putting delineators up at the end of the summer. Is that not happening anymore?

This issue is still happening daily. A car almost hit me yesterday because the drove the whole length of the street in the bike/bus lane and then made their turn. Is anything ever going to be done to remedy this? A previous reply to someone with the same issue said something would be done by late summer.
