We are the owners of the black building and the houses behind. But we NO NOT have anything to do with this garbage. We paid to have a dumpster outside our property for OUR tenants and anyone else that might need it. And have a ton a proof that we PAY workers to come clean our property and many times clean the garbage that’s across the street. Let’s not forget who clean up that block. Within less than a year we have made sure to do everything possible to clean up the area. If the city isn’t doing anything we don’t whine and cry we just Handel it. If any resident is this concern y’all know how to find us.

So Neighbor123 i have personally spoken with both of you. If you have issues with the FACTS that your “build it detroit” team is not dumping- then stay in Detroit and actually tend to the issues. Dont say you know when youre in NEW YORK. All of us have seen FIRST HAND the dumping. You did NOT clean the lot last year!!! How dare you lie about how it has been handled when you dont even live here. Absolute disrespect to an established neighborhood. You are not the only ones- and we will hold everyone accountable for this. I have no problem talking to you in person about this.

No one is crying or whining. We’ve been here for years and seen how the city treats its residents. You have not been here.

If you’d like to help by all means we’d love the lots cleaned. Others that illegal dump don’t care that there is a dumpster, even if it’s a few feet from them. They’re used to blight not ticketing them so they keep doing it.

The argument is with the city not us.

I believe you just drove by one of our houses if im correct. If youre here- then we need to talk. I have tried contacting the numbers given to us many times with no avail to inform you of the issues. There has been no option but to contact the city to deal with the issues. If that was your truck we saw let me know and we can talk.

Glad to see neighbors coming together as too many people and organizations in the city keep passing the buck to each other, while their lot is blighted, infested with rats, and piled with trash. They don’t live in neighborhoods like this, so why is it ok for the hard-working, long-time tax payers on this street to accept this? Do better, City of Detroit. Stop treating our Southwest residents like trash.

We just cleaned up the lot because we want our families to be In a clean and safe space. The landlord we are renting from upgraded the lights outside and has been super receptive to any ideas and concerns we have about the blight across the street, even letting us fill it up with the dumpster across the road for the community clean-up.

It's not all construction debris. It's just garbage from people at night by the strip club hanging out and pregaming before they head down. I've been here working late and had to check some people. The big stuff is really from people just dumping, there is so much stuff all around the fields.

It would be great for all of us to be on the same page to maintain it. I guarantee that debris wasn't from them, just some idiots dumping at wild times of the night. If you're from the neighborhood, you know the city takes forever to get things done; lifelong resident advice-> organize with your neighbors handle it ourselves. I agree to keep applying pressure to town but on our neighbors.

Thank you MCSDA ! For what you do for the neighborhood. I was born/raised in SW and know the building owners, they are very hands on and care about the neighborhood doubt they are dumping.

It’s easy for us to voice our opinions online but takes more effort to actually take care of problems with our own hands. Let’s be a solution instead of echoing the same song about the city not doing their job, that’s a given! It’s our neighborhood if the city won’t take care of it we have to.

I posted the complaint. Everyone involved has been PERSONALLY spoken to face to face. Not behind a screen. The issue is being handled.
This app is called “improve Detroit” so the city is trying to “improve” their shortcomings. If an area has specific and constant issues then the city needs to know. They have the funds and resources to do something. This is a hard working neighborhood that works long hours. To put it constantly on the residents is not realistic to the growth of a city. Yes, the neighborhood has to do their best, but the city does as well.
This should be an app for drawing attention to problem areas. (Great example is the drag racing down Michigan Ave) because people can get hurt. The report was for 4095 and various other complaints that the entire street has. Lets use this app to IMPROVE Detroit and not for any other reason. The issue has been dealt with. End of thread.
