Please know that we continue to make odor control a #1 priority and take your concerns seriously.
To combat this issue, we have recently completed the installation of 18 additional landfill gas collection wells on Tuesday, July 1, and are currently working on connecting them to the existing collection system.
The additional wells will help to increase gas collection efficiency and reduce the chance of odorous gas from escaping the landfill. We are also cleaning some of the existing gas collection wells to increase the amount of gas collected.
In addition, we are investigating the feasibility of installing a temporary cap to close the side slopes of the landfill. This temporary cap will prevent gas from escaping the sides of the landfill and direct it towards the gas collection systems.
