I wrote to Tate and NPO. This is insane

Bike lanes were put there for bikers to safely travel not for cars to park in

I have personally seen plenty of bikers using the lanes when they were free of parked cars. Start ticketing!

What is the answer here. Why are they both on one side of the road. We need bike lanes and need then safe and clear

B, they had to put them both on one side because the roadway isn't wide enough to have them on both sides. Since Grand River is M-5, a state highway, the lane requirements call fir a little wider lanes for cars. I went to the public planning meetings, and I can say the engineers looked at all of the alternatives. Each lane requires a couple of feet buffer between parked cars and the bike lane, and that tiny space was lacking. The other option was to remove parking on one side.

Don't see a way to respond to individual comments. The bike were designed and signed correctly I too was in the planning meetings. Tate's office never responded to my email but they did distribute flyers saying parking in the bike will get you ticket. Never heard back from NPO Reed. City of Detroit seems to be organized not to respond. This app looks promising, well see how it goes. Keep up the pressure, I will

I think the business have to get on board as well. It's their patrons who are parking in these spaces. Oftentimes, the proprietor can see that their patron parked illegally.

Update. NPO Reed contacted me today and said they are giving tickets. While they are working on it the issue sb managed by Detroit Parking (313) 221-2500
