I live on Plymouth Street in Hartford, for over 27 years, during these years I have watched the speeding and reckless driving progress in a terrible manner, this gravely concerns not only myself but my neighbors as well. I have made it my duty to speak to each and every individual to whom has once voiced their concerns to me, there was also a petition signed and submitted to the state and I received emails saying this was something that they were looking into and years later nothing is being done and it is safe to say that we are all in agreement that something needs to be done, there is a speed limit sign posted at the beginning of the street which no one seems to notice, in the Spring and summer time this seems to be the worst to have your kids or pets out playing in the safety of your own yard without having the fear that should they accidentally run into the street they would not be killed, there has been many instances where I am sitting in front on My porch and on the sidewalk with my dog when there are two speeding cars heading in either the same or different direction passing my house at a death rate, for one incident there was even a car speeding that fast that he lost control and ended up on the side walk and almost hitting the street post, only for the driver to speed away after this incident has occurred without nkt even checking to see if anyone or animal was injured or almost dead. Our neighboring streets all have street bumps and stop signs posted, but we do not have any on Plymouth Street, there is also a day care opposite my house and it is only a matter of time, God forbid should something occur.
