It could use some clean up, cutting the grass, etc. Not sure about the interior condition, but I don't believe that razing it would accomplish anything. Seems like a perfectly fine house- just needs some repairs.

The house has been open to the elements for years. Pigeons fly in and out. It has been in this condition since I moved into my apartment overlooking it 10 years ago, and it was like this many years before that. Last year the city sent a team of 7 men to clean this yard. The owner doesn't do anything unless she is fined.

Yikes! Well, sounds deserving of some serious heavy fines then!

Now June 6 no improvement. Tonight person trasspassing. Does this building have squatters living here? This is getting dangerous ... not just meguyssy... City better do something soon.

Apologies for the delayed response. Although this is a vacant property, your inquiry is a DPW matter (Trash). They will inspect and I will ask them to put on property maintenance list. If approved to add to the list, the turnaround time is 4 to 6 weeks.

Why isn't the owner fined for not maintaining lot & building? Thanks

Hope something is done here. I walked past the other day and the place actually smells from the street. I passed an elderly lady who looked at me with a look like “gross” and then held her nose as she passed. Surely a derelict building like this can’t just indefinitely stay this way without fines?

Owner also has 245 and 251 Academy.

There is food for animals (cats?) on the property that is making it smell terribly.

Nothing has been done about this issue since it was reported back in May 2019. The weeds in the front yard are well over 6 feet tall. The sanitation department has not done anything. What does it take to get the city to act on an eyesore like this without passing the buck around.

This happens every year with this home owner. Last year the city sent a team to cut down the weeds and clean out the yard. Nothing of the sort has been done at all this year. The owner herself came and pulled out some weeds by hand last week, and now they are rotting on her walkway.

The house smells because it is not closed up properly. All the windows are not boarded up. Some are open. I can see pigeons entering through the rotted first floor bay window roof from my apartment.

Something needs to be done.

Clearly the owner cannot maintain the property. Why doesn’t she sell it?!

As per Inspector Carbone, this property is in maintenance and is waiting to be cleaned by the city.

Update: The actual address of this property is 308 Academy St. It is in our property maintenance division. I will speak with the supervisor of that division and see if we can clean this property asap since it has been on the list for quite some time.

The house was not cleared all through the Spring and Summer, even though there we so many complaints about it. The turn around was 4-6 weeks, but nothing was ever done by the city.

The owner finally ripped everything out of the yard and put the house up for sale.

The house is still an eyesore. Is there nothing that can be done to have it boarded up and sealed?

This is a shame.

The house is up for sale and should not be a problem for long.

Do you honestly think anyone is going to pay $980,000.00 for that mess?

Update: As per Inspector Gani, this location was clean when he went on 10/31/2019.
