My garage and back yard at 4210 end up flooding if it rains good enough because theyre taking all the water running off the street. Ive asked about it before and they just said they had no plans to improve/expand the storm on centre. According to the 10 year cip projects list its not happening in the next decade.

By cleaned do you mean the water has all been drained out?

The City uses a vacuum style truck to pull out debris (including any water) currently in the drain. The drains in your area are an infiltration system to handle storm water. This is a very effective and environmentally safe method to return the rainwater to the groundwater table. Most likely the cause of the flooding is due to the amount of rain (2”+) received in a short time frame. Infiltration systems can become overwhelmed during heavy rainfalls and drainage systems in Portage, typically, are not designed to take in water at such a high rate of volume.
