Deskripsyon

Almost all motorists on Drexelgate Drive drive over the speed limit. The posted speed limit is only 25 MPH, but drivers go 5-10 over almost all the time. Occasionally driving 15 or more MPH over the limit. Although according the City of Rochester Hills, this is a safe walkway to Hamlin Elementary without any sidewalks! This road needs to go on a diet to encouage drives to drive slower through the dense residental area (perhaps with a bike lane, especially since it goes almost to the Clinton River Trail) and sidewalks need to be installed.

Yes, we need sidewalks! The residents in this area (myself included) risk their lives everytime they try to walk down Drexelgate. I walk my child to school and fear for our safety every day. I have seen an increase in police presence since the construction started on surrounding roads (thus making traffic worse on Drexelgate) but it hasn't helped much. I regularly get PASSED while driving the speed limit. Last week I was passed, honked at, and flipped off, for going 25mph. My house will be on the market soon due to this.
