Does no one else agree that these intersections are dreadful? Even for motorized multi-ton vehicles? I realize there aren't many of us who dare ride our bikes on M-43 but trust me, these intersections are dreadful.

Nothing has been done to clear or repair these intersections. A simple sweeping would help prevent some possible crashes particularly for 2-wheeled vehicles like bikes and motorcycles, mopeds that can easily crash when their front wheels slide out on unexpected patches of gravel that has built up on all 4 corners of these very busy, beat-up intersections along M-43. Here's a photo taken this evening of the huge gravel patch on the SW corner of Dobie and M-43.

Still full of gravel. How hard is it to sweep an intersection?

Awful in every direction throughout the Marsh/M-43 intersection. Took these photos on my ride home this evening.

Some potholes were treated with shovelfuls of asphalt along M-43 in Mer. Twp. recently. To MDOT's credit I did receive this response earlier this week from the MDOT staff responsible for M-43 maintenance:

"Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We currently have a crew from the Williamston Maintenance Garage working to patch as many of the holes as possible in this stretch of Grand River, and they are also working to level any manhole covers that are low. Additionally, our catchbasin-cleaning/curb-sweeping contractor will be going through this area once we are done patching so that they can clean up any loose material; I believe the Ingham County Road Department is having their sweeper clean up debris on their approaches to Grand River as well.

This section of Grand River is currently scheduled for major rehab work in 2023, and we are doing the best that we can to keep the road in a safe and serviceable condition until that point. We are also looking for any opportunity to move this project up, but at this point that is an unlikely possibility due to other competing projects within our region.
