I’m very concerned about the notification that the Renton School District is considering the sale of the land behind our house, Tiffany Park Woods, for possible development. This option is totally unacceptableable and I would work actively to oppose it. Given the length of time, 40 years, that this wild area has been part of the community we have a tacit expectation that this green area is a permanent element of our neighborhood landscape. If the Renton School District truly does want to divest itself of this land then I would like to see this land transfer to the City of Renton and remain as it. This area is home to old growth trees, scrub wetland and a large range of wildlife. The trails thru and around the area are actively used by the local residents and passionate dog walkers. The assumption of this parcel of land the City of Renton is a logical addition to the Benson Hill’s comprehensive community development plan.
