Good Afternoon,
I would like to collect traffic data to determine if traffic calming (such as speed humps) is warranted. In summary, Smyrna's traffic calming policy recommends traffic calming if one of the following criteria is met: (1) there are at least 1,000 vehicles per day, (2) the 85th percentile speed is at least 11 mph over the posted speed limit, or (3) more than 5% of drivers are traveling 15 mph over the posted speed limit. We will install a radar sign in 1 -2 months to collect traffic data. I will follow-up with the results of that study to determine the best options.
