City of Oakland Public Works Department addressed this issue on 03/10/2015, service request # 565357.

This issue is NOT resolved Just yesterday morning water was pouring out again. It is so obvious that this "drainage" issue is under someone's control. Now that someone is paying attention to it, the culprit is staggering the times the water drains out. Good ole Oakland - so much for "curb appeal" How would you like a trail of water always in front of your curb? Sorry Public Works but you are going to have to actually DIG a little more.

Thank you Mr. Coleman for thinking of this. I will follow through. However, this is not limited to a nuisance issue. This is also an environmental issue. Water has been spewing from the drain for 2 years causing mold, fungi, attracting critters who drink from it and an unsightly eye sore,not to mention the water waste with the drought. Sewer water has been ruled-out otherwise there would be dead birds and other critters all over the street and the animals know better than to drink bacteria-filled water. No, I suspect it is groundwater used for someone's grow business. The water can be analyzed by a private firm. Can you imagine if every house in the city of Oakland had a stream of water constantly flowing in front of their house?! The City of Oakland is negligent and I suspect this will be headed for a civil action resolution. Public Works has been useless.

You can also contact Alameda Co environmental heath and see if they can come out or recommend who to call. If there is any pooling try mosquito abatement. I hate the run around and being persistent takes a lot of time.
