Deskripsyon

Primrose Avenue, which connects to Hazelwood Drive, has a sidewalk from Oakland to Brightwood but none until Hazelwood and Cedar. There is a public school bus stop on this section of the street and the children who ride the bus must wait in the street while cars go by. There is also a blind curve, and pedestrians must jump into the dirt to avoid cars coming around the bend.

There's also a drainage problem on this same section of street where it curves near Cedar. During moderate to heavy rains, such as the one today on 3/8/12, a deep pool of water accumulates that's enough to cause a car accident.

we need a sidewalk on brightwood between cedar and stokes. our street is a cut through for cars getting to belmont or woodmont and there is no sidewalk on either side. we also have school bus issues. because the street is curvy and there are many cars parked on the street, it is dangerous to walk, bike, etc.

A sidewalk would address a number of issues:

-Pedestrian safety
-A place for kids to wait for their Metro school bus, which stops at
the corner of Primrose Ave. and Primrose Cir.
-A grading/stormwater drainage problem where Primrose Ave. bends
around to become Hazelwood.
-Lack of consistency in streetscape

We would also like to see a sidewalk on Brightwood Avenue, from I-440 to Cedar (or beyond) as there is high cut-through traffic (Christ the King traffic, people cutting from Hillsboro Pike over to Belmont) and no safe way to walk the street with dogs, strollers, etc.
