Deskripsyon

This lane going out to North Elm needs to be divided into to two turning lanes. It would not cost the town much to paint a divider on the Mobile station side. I get so sick of getting stuck behind someone waiting at the red light who doesn't realize they can turn right on red(After a stop of course)or someone who is in the middle who is turning the other way (toward the police station). This correction would solve some congestion problems at this light ,sometimes backed up to Kmart. Please Torrington consider making this minor change in this road.

Part of the problem is that the person at the head of the line doesn't realize that they have to pull up to the white line in order to hit the sensor. The light doesn't change unless the sensor is hit.

Granted but they still don't have to hold up traffic by waiting for the light to change when they are turning right. Or blocking the entire intersection waiting to turn left. There is room for two lanes or a smaller right lane that would encourage left hand turners to stay over on their side of the line.

Try coming from the north end up towards goshen,I have to slow down if NOT stop for ignorant drivers that cut me off.Doesn't the law say,you can turn right on red ONLY if no one is coming?

The law says to stop on red and proceed if it's clear. Yes you would have the right away. However this does not address the problem of people stopping and not proceeding to turn right ,or blocking the whole lane waiting to turn left. Unfortunately there are always ignorant drivers, sometimes just regular people having a bad day, it happens.
