Deskripsyon
Today, I witnessed a terrible sight on Trumbull street- A car was being towed by Lombard Motors, presumably due to street sweeping. The car was pouring smoke from its brakes, due to the parking brake being engaged. He continued onto the highway, with the car smoking the entire way. It was shocking.
I was in traffic and could not take a picture, but it is highly likely that this car will require a serious repair or potential brake failure on top of the fine and towing fee.
My car was towed several weeks ago, with the parking brake also potentially engaged, and I am now going to have to make sure that the car has not been damaged.
While towing for safety reasons make make such action necessary, I believe it is highly improper for the city to tow cars due to street sweeping if doing so will result in such severe damage.
Most importantly this owner likely will have no idea of the damage done to their car and they may potentially be at grave risk for an accident in the future.

Clearly they have no regard for any rules - so don't blame the tow!

What a ridiculous rejoinder!. A parking violation is not a crime. Damage to another's property IS! I hope the tow company gets sued for all repairs plus inconvenience, emotional stress and whatever next.
This TOWING/ FASCIST behavior does not behove a free democracy.

PS-- If tow companies don't have flatbeds they should not be in business

The owner of this vehicle should be notified because driving with faulty brakes is dangerous. I hope the city will respond to these posts.
