I agree... I experienced this yesterday driving on Burr when a car from Fort Hale pulled out right in front of me an another car coming from the other side of Burr. The intersection either needs a 4-way stop or have a roundabout. I should not stay this way with the two speed humps and two Stop signs

the designers planned this intersection to get someone killed. putting those two speed bumps there is the dumbest decision i've ever seen , i've watched two times as cars slammed on their brakes because someone from flt hale rd thought they were flowing to stop on burr street and pulled out in front of them , someone's gonna get killed because of this idiotic decision

Even a bunch of SLOW traffic signs would help. With more traffic anticipated from these Avelo flights, a fender bender will shut down the neighborhood!

It's funny this has been brought up because I said the same thing yesterday. Whoever thought putting speed bumps over there should be fired. They obviously aren't from around here. The corner of Fort Hale Rd and Burr have had a lot of accidents. And when the cops are called, they take over an hour to arrive if there are no injuries. People have complained but it falls on deaf ears. I have witnessed more than once when people are tired of waiting for the cops and they just end up exchanging information for insurance purposes. And they all say the same thing "I thought you had a stop sign" (On Ft Hale Rd) Put a 4 way stop sign there or a traffic light. People who do not live in Morris Cove and/or are not familiar with that street assume that Ft Hale Rd has a stop sign. They don't even look, they just assume.

Agreed. Very dangerous! Please address this before someone gets hurt.

Drivers on Fort Hale Road have a sign which reads, "CROSS TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP". They obviously don't notice it because their focus of attention is on the STOP sign which has letters in a much larger font.

Anyway, speed humps are horrible. So many people request them, but after they're installed, they regret it. There continue to be many requests for speed humps throughout New Haven.

As more and more speed humps are approved, our city is starting to look like a BMX track. Speed humps impede our ambulances, fire engines, and police cars.

Thank you for reaching out. The purpose of the speed humps is to reduce approach speeds along Burr St through the intersection. While roundabouts are great traffic calming devices, there is insufficient space for one at this intersection without impacting the residential properties. It is our understanding that a 4-way stop is possibly being requested.

We will review signage to improve awareness for drivers that currently Burr St drivers do not stop.

Did anyone think of what happens whenever a fire engine or the police have to go over all those speed bumps? Every second counts, and with another plane comes the risk of a tragedy. Not to mention the people who live in this area who might have to call 911 for a medical emergency. Do some research on speed bumps. Just one of many things that can be found: "In his research, Iannuzzi found Durham fire trucks are delayed an average of 10 seconds for every speed hump they travel over on the way to a fire or other emergency. ... Iannuzzi said that if a fire truck crosses several humps, the fire will likely be worse when firefighters arrive" There should be a traffic light over there. A roundabout would also cause a delay for emergency vehicles.

Not to mention I could bake a cake in the time it takes to turn left onto Burr from Hall St now. There is an endless parade of cars going 5 miles an hour on Burr St at certain times of the day.

A police officer or traffic dept person should be assigned their during peak arrival/departure times. Tweed is profitable now- maybe they should hire police themselves.
